Performance expectations – Essential Functions:
  • The Manager is responsible for every aspect of the guest and team experience. The Restaurant Manager reports to the General Manager.
  • Restaurant experience in a supervisory or management role strongly preferred
  • Has worked in a quick-service restaurant environment
  • Has an appreciation for and working knowledge of really good food!
  • Provides leadership that inspires teamwork, generates energy, enthusiasm, and drives results
  • Has a reputation for excellent relations with customers, vendors, and team members
  • Has the ability to design, implement, and to continuously improve the systems and procedures that lead to success
  • Has experience in the training and development of team members
  • Is self-directed and able to work independently, as well as be an integral member of the management team
  • Has the ability to deliver an excellent customer experience to every customer
  • Ready, willing and able to work holidays, weekends, events, and other peak periods of the restaurant business
  • Hires and oversees training and performance reviews for team members
  • Schedules staff based upon anticipated volume
  • Resolves any customer complaints that are “passed up” from staff and/or asks for help from a Restaurant Manager or Managing Partner
  • Provides hands-on help if needed by any of the team members
  • Greets guests and team members alike; delivers customer service consistent with Great Bagel & Bakery mission
  • Passes all training requirements required of front line staff at cashier, barista, and line positions within 6 months – must be willing and able to fill in where needed
  • Is able to prepare all specialty beverages according to Great Bagel & Bakery specifications
  • Leads dining service staff in cleaning and maintaining of all front of the house areas, furniture, equipment and fixtures,
    coordinating with the Manager
  • Updates/troubleshoots Point of Sale systems as needed
  • Establishes and maintains good communication and a positive working relationship with Restaurant

Qualifications:
  • Possess excellent basic math skills and have the ability to utilize POS system to run open and close day procedures

  • Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time
  • Be able to reach, bend, stoop and frequently lift up to 50 pounds
  • Must have the stamina to work 40 to 50 hours per week
Job Overview

Drivers organize, pack and deliver orders always leading with efficiency, safety, timeliness, respect and integrity.

We are seeking self-motivated people who thrive working in a fun and positive environment, and who feel confident driving the streets of Boston and Cambridge in a catering van.

You’ll be driving the streets of Boston and Cambridge delivering our wonderful food and delivering Flour’s hospitality to our catering guests. You’ll also help to put together catering orders, organize your deliveries with the bakery managers, and other projects as they arise. Another important part of the job is clean car maintenance: keeping the gas full, the car squeaky clean and giving a heads-up on things that need fixing.

Job Responsibilities
  • Load/unload vans- Properly load and unload van with safety in mind; safety of self, vehicle and/or product.
  • Maintain Logs- Ability to properly maintain daily logs with all pertinent information including returns, incidents, money spent on gas/parking, etc.
  • Deliver paper/food items to storefronts/markets- Ability to prioritize product (i.e. dairy when extremely hot out, food when requisitions are too large) and expedite delivery to store front receiving team
  • Clean/upkeep van- Responsible for upkeep of van, including tire pressure checks, deep cleaning and escalating any issues or concerns to management
  • Fully understand and embrace our company ethos, embodying our core values serving as a brand ambassador both internally and externally

Other duties may arise from time to time and may be assigned to you long-term or short-term.

Skills and Requirements
  • Outstanding sense of hospitality
  • Valid driver’s license required
  • Clean driving record required – must be an insurable driver
  • High comfort level with driving a van that carries an assortment of bulk product as well as delicate baked goods
  • Must be able to repeatedly lift at least 50lbs
  • Ability to be on your feet for 8 hours
  • Ability to work outside year-round
  • Solid work ethic
